Frampton & Babel, a newly formed company at the time of engaging with Oh-Tech, are a wholesaler distributing premium meats as well as providing ambient, chilled and frozen food storage to its customers.

“There are many decisions to make when setting up and business; one of the best I made was to involve Oh-Tech from the outset for our IT support. We would not be growing as quickly as we are without them. Their knowledge, advice and service are spot-on, and what’s more, they care about us.”

On-boarding

Seamless Integration

The on-boarding process for Frampton & Babel was fairly straight forward as they were a new company with no infrastructure. We helped the team through the whole process from getting an internet line to moving files to a SharePoint. Oh-Tech’s proven on-boarding process ensured a smooth transition from the existing systems to its current upgraded, monitored solution. The process included:

• Recording specifications of all key hardware, including servers, PC’s, laptops and tablets

• Integrating the DMS

• Remote monitoring software onto all devices

• A full security audit – to identify any immediate issues

• Team introductions to foster trust and ongoing open communication

Oh-tech Action

Cloud-based infrastructure:

Using Microsoft Azure, Frampton and Babel gained a scalable and secure cloud platform. This eliminated the need for servers, offering them flexibility, costefficiency, and easy data access from any location.

Unified device management:

Microsoft Intune, seamlessly integrated with Azure, enables centralised device management for laptops and tablets. For Frampton & Babel, this ensures consistent security, simplified software deployment, and allows remote troubleshooting by the Oh-Tech team.

Secure document sharing:

Oh-Tech implemented Microsoft SharePoint, which enables management and staff to store, share and edit files, folders, and critical business information. SharePoint is used by organisations globally to support teamwork and internal communication, and is well supported by Microsoft, making it future-proofed.

Untethered Communication:

As some of Frampton & Babel’s staff are constantly on the move, Microsoft Teams VoIP was configured. This empowers staff to conduct business calls from anywhere with an internet connection, enabling efficient communication and collaboration regardless of physical location.

Sub-zero connectivity:

As Frampton & Babel offer frozen storage to its customers, Oh-Tech installed specialised Wi-Fi access points inside the sub-zero meat freezers. This ensures reliable wireless connectivity for their tablet devices, even in extreme cold, which makes stocktaking easier, and enhances operational efficiency.

Multi-layered device security:

Understanding the importance of data protection for Frampton & Babel’s client base, Oh-Tech implemented a device encryption strategy. This includes a combination of BitLocker and EFS encryption, coupled with conditional access policies. Should a device fail to meet these security requirements, access to sensitive files is automatically restricted. Additionally, Frampton can remotely disable a lost or stolen device, rendering corporate data inaccessible until the device is recovered.
